See, it’s important to not just know WHAT you are talking about, but HOW to say it! I’ve been noticing lately that there seems to be a sizable number of professionals who somehow successfully got through their field without actually learning anything about it. I’m a graphic/web designer, and I’ve run into situations where people use ‘art direction’, ‘illustration’ and ‘host’ incorrectly. My friend, who is a funeral director has run in to people in her field who mix up ‘internment’ with ‘interment’, and (as illustrated above) inoculate with enucleate.
I know some people are probably thinking I’m getting too uptight over the issue. But seriously, how can anyone expect to do well when that have no idea what they’re talking about?
